Timing is Everything

I just wanted to take a moment to share a blessing from this past weekends bus route, and a good example of how God’s thoughts and timing are not our thoughts and timing.

Our second stop on our route we arrive between 8:50-9:00 a.m.

Normally we have to wait a few minutes while the kids finish getting ready. However, this past Sunday was a little different. Kaleb and Ben went and knocked on the doors as usual, and the rider at Ben’s door came out within a minute or so. However, at Kaleb’s door he was told the kids were still getting ready, but that they would be out shortly. After about 8-10 minutes we were all getting a little concerned about getting behind in schedule. Then a little girl and one of her brothers – who we did not know – came out and got on the bus. She said she saw her friend get on the bus, and wanted to know if she could come too! Of course we told her yes – if her parents said yes – and then she asked if her brother could come. Yes, again! So she went back into her home and got her other brother. 3 new riders! None of which would have happened IF we had not been waiting for one of our normal riders.

After this the wait didn’t seem that long after all.

Promotion Sunday.

Hello Teachers, bus captains, and Parents!

We have set the dates for Promotion Sunday. We will be promoting the Sunday School Classes on June 3rd, 2012.

Understand that you will be dropping your children off at their normal classes on that Sunday. However, you will be picking them up with the next grade.

Prepare yourself now.

As a reminder:
Kindergarten second hour ministry is directly above the first hour room and is called “Noah’s Park.”
1st – 3rd Grades are in “The Farm” which is directly above the Music Room.
4th – 6th Grades are in “Kidz Church” located in the basement with Bro. Andy.

We will be reminding you as the dates get closer.

Trunk or Treat

Please note that the North Drive (by cemetery) will be the only open exit that night. No cars will be permitted passed the bus garage for safety of the children.

Cars wishing to pass out candy will be parked in the field by the Bus Garage. We need as many people as possible to come with candy in their trunks.

There will be snacks and a bonfire in the park area below the trunk or treating area. If you are able, please bring a desert (finger foods please).

In addition to Pee Wee club, we will have Noah’s Park, The Farm, and Kidz Church going on during the services.

Please be extra careful to watch for children as you leave.

Here is a basic overview of what will take place during the Trunk or Treat event.

Bus Breakfast Change

ALL Bus workers!

Due to scheduling conflicts, I will need to reschedule the Bus Breakfast for October and November. Please make a note of this.

October’s Bus Meeting will be on the 8th.

November’s Meeting will be on the 12th.

Both at 9am. Come prepared with a Testimony, your Goals for the month, and something to take notes.

Make these meetings a priority. There is much information that is gathered and needed for your work in the ministry. We need EVERY bus worker there.

Trunk or Treat Layout.

Hello all! These are the plans for the upcoming Trunk or Treat night.

Notice:

• We will be closing the South Drive to traffic that evening.
• Only people giving out candy will be parking in the field.
• Buses will be parking in the south drive.
• The Bonfire, snacks and stories will be the only thing by the picnic pavilion.
• All other parking will be in the parking lot.

KIDZ SAVED!!!

Doing the numbers, and we have our totals…

For the months of July and August we were privileged to see 21 children come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

The Key to Success in Ministry!

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

God’s Word is not hard to understand. As a matter of fact, at some times it is downright blunt. We read books on children’s ministries, and expect to find the answer to all our questions. We go to seminars, and conferences expecting the to make us the perfect bus worker. We research tactics and methods hoping we will find that one trick that we have not yet learned… Or, maybe you have been around the block so long that you know everything there is to know and need no teaching.

Well, I do not pretend to have the market cornered, nor do I think I have found something new. It is just a reminder that while I love books on children’s ministry (I am reading one right now), and enjoy a good seminar as much as the next guy, and even spend countless hours researching new ideas…the key is not found there. It is found in the most ignored and forgotten of places.

Get into the Word so that He changes you to be the teacher, captain, director He wants you to be. When we yield to His plans, we will be successful. Whatever the outcome of our classes, we will be successful. Because we are doing exactly what He wants of us.

But we will not know what He wants until we “meditate therein day and night.”

9/11 service

For your information, Kidz church will be attending the special services in the main auditorium this Sunday. The 4th – 6th grades will be sitting in the section by the mission board during second hour.

Parents, know where your child will be. Bus captains, this is where you can retrieve your riders. Church family, come let them know you are glad they are here.

Attention Sunday School Teachers

We will be hosting our second annual Trunk or Treat on October 30. We will not be running bus service that morning but will be running buses that evening. We will be having the Second Hour Ministries (Noah’s Park, The Farm, and Kidz Church) will be running during the evening as well.

Please help with the Kidz and parents by keeping this in their minds. Remind them often and encourage them to attend.

Be on the watch for flyers you can pass out. Also, be ready to show up yourself. Check the Trunk or Treat page for more details.
